May 2023 update

As the weather finally seems to be turning to Spring, we have some lovely products in our shop ready for your weekly meals, special treats and even the Coronation celebrations!

If you intend to crack open a bottle of fizz to celebrate, come and see what we can offer! We have champagne from local Britwell vineyard should you wish to be patriotic! Our chiller is full of goodies for picnics, lunches and teas and the shelves are bursting with lovely things for the Spring weeks ahead.

The fruit and vegetables from local supplier, Dudmans, are (in our humble opinion) so superior to any supermarket items. Just look at what we have in the shop currently:

Yes, that IS English new season asparagus!

We have recently taken delivery of some new greetings cards with almost every category taken care of ie New Home, New Baby, Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday, Sympathy and several more. Come and take a look!

Also on the shelves, we have some new stock of our ever-popular Swaadish Curry Sauces which can be added to left-over meats or vegetables. Here they are, to whet your appetite:

On a more serious note, over the last few months, the turnover of the shop has taken a downturn. Of course, the cost of living currently and the resulting price rises across the board have hit us all. The Management Committee will be keeping a close eye on the numbers of course but if EVERYONE in the village spent an extra £1 each week, what a difference that would make. How bereft would we all feel if the shop were to discontinue trading? It really is one of the community hubs and I know most of us do support it either in spending or volunteering time to work there. So those of you who haven’t been in in a while, well it might not be just a pretty building to drive past for ever, please DO come in and support us. Make a positive difference! Thank you.

Enjoy the Coronation celebrations!
