August 2025 update

Balmy summer days are here again!  Long may it last.  Nevertheless, the household tasks never let up so we thought we would remind you of some of the basics that we stock in the shop.

Did you know that we sell a fairly comprehensive range of cleaning products?  From bleach to cleaning fluids, washing powders, dishwasher items, even ant powder.  Those little blighters have a habit of appearing in our houses in warm weather!

If you’re stuck for what to cook tonight, we sell frozen top-quality chicken supremes, Cumberland sausages, and minced beef from Mr & Mrs Parks butchers locally.

Continuing the local theme, most of us pop in the shop for half a dozen eggs fairly regularly but did you know that Beechwood Eggs, our chosen supplier, are a three generations farm near Reading and that their hens are free to roam on acres of land from sunrise to sunset, all year round.  Even more impressive, the eggs reach our shelves within 36 hours of being laid.  No middle-man involved! We think that explains the gorgeous yellow yolks and full flavour.
