All the staff and volunteers at Ewelme Village Store, would like to wish all our customers a very happy new year! We hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and were able to spend time with family and friends.
December is often a busy time for the shop with people buying goods and presents for the festive period. We love that! However, please don’t forget us in January and the ongoing dark winter days. It can historically be our quietest time of year on the sales front so we’d like to put in a plea to continue popping in to buy your weekly items, however large or small your shopping needs may be. We do still have some lovely gifts in store including our new personalised mugs, coasters, chocolates and biscuits. Don’t forget us if you are looking for a gift for someone!
We have been busy making some warming soups in different varieties which can be heated up for you in a jiffy or taken home to enjoy for lunch, maybe with one of Tracey’s cheese scones!
Everyone will be familiar with the range of Cornfield Bakery breads that we have on a daily basis. However, did you know, that with a day or two’s notice, Tracey can order in some of their speciality loaves ? Examples are: Cheese and Marmite loaf, Corn Bread, Olive Bread, and on a Saturday (order 2 days ahead), Cheese and Jalapeño loaf, Rye and Wheat Sourdough, Multiseed Sourdough, Beer Sourdough. Please order sourdoughs 2 days ahead! In addition, various pastries and doughnuts can be ordered. Please speak to Tracey and place your orders at least one day in advance, call the shop on: 01491 834467 or email: manager@ewelmevillagestore.co.uk.
With advance notice, Tracey can also order various fruits 🍇 and vegetables 🌽 for our customers. Recent examples would be some Seville Oranges 🍊 for marmalade making! If you need a certain ingredient for a recipe, please do ask her if she can order it in for you the following day. She’ll do her best to help. The same can be said for her delicious loaf cakes, ie lemon drizzle, fruit loaf, banana and chocolate chip to name her best-selling ones. Telephone or email the above contact details to speak to her.
Finally, we are sad to be saying goodbye to our Saturday Manager, Jordan Scargill, who leaves us at the end of the month. We wish her well in her new endeavours. Watch this space for news of our new Saturday Manager…
