September 2024 update

If you’re one of those people who has managed to get through the whole summer without popping in to the shop for a Magnum or other ice lolly, well now is your chance!  The weather is looking promising for the next week or so and we still have our freezer full of them so don’t miss out.  Come in and treat yourself while the sun is still shining!

Do you have a family birthday or special celebration coming up?  Don’t forget we have cards for all occasions including many different styles for birthdays, anniversaries, new births, congratulations (maybe for doing well in the recent exams?).  Do come and have a look at our range.  We also stock some delightful designs from our local artists, who we’re rather proud of!

In our wall racks and on our shelves, we have in stock some local maps including several local walks of which there are so many around our beautiful village.  Not forgetting some books on local history written by talented local authors.  Included in this are two local books which are described as “faction” in the literary world, on the life and times of Alice de la Pole, Duchess of Suffolk whose tomb lies in our village church.  They are a fantastic read and would make great presents.  The author, Christina Hardyment, has written a third book in the series which will be released soon.  Watch this space for a date when she will be coming in to see us to sign personal copies!

We will have news next month of the gorgeous little knitted seasonal characters eg elves, reindeer, Christmas puds and fingerless gloves.  Please get your orders in so that our clever knitters can get knitting!

We wish you a happy end of summer.
